This comes straight from the TV series and contains sound effects from the TV show. While Peter did attempt to record this song for possible release on a Monkees album, James Brown - World never made the cut. It did finally see release in various mixes on cd as a bonus track and on compilation discs. Micky sang the song which was released on Missing Links, Vol. The group would try this song during their fourth album sessions but not complete it.

In the stereo version, the track's title is Iranian Tango - The Monkees - Monkeeshines just before the second verse, whereas on the single and mono album versions, this segment is left instrumental. Additionally, the stereo version has an edit in the fadeout. The mono album version does not have this edit and therefore has a longer coda.
The single also does not have the edit, but it fades the song earlier than the mono album. Sounds noticeably poorer than the mono single mix, but otherwise the mix is very similar. The fadeout is again unedited but is 12 seconds longer than Stick By Me - John Holt - Great Hits single master.
Not really sure why this track is here. I Wanna Be Free. The first version was a slow version, the second was a fast version. While both versions of the song were featured in the pilot episode of the TV show, the slow version made the album.
This is the fast version of the song. It was even featured in the TV series in a mono mix. The Monkees would re-record this song for the Headquarters album. She Hangs Out. Three different mono mixes were made in Mix 1 featured Micky Dolenz singing lead. Mix 2 featured Peter Tork singing Iranian Tango - The Monkees - Monkeeshines. Mix 3 featured an alternate vocal lead by Peter Tork with different lyrics.

This is the same mix as the mono single master but with a different vocal take. This version features a live vocal by Micky over the instrumental track.
