Morris and Co. Until now Cian - Cursi - Delivery remained in the BBC archives. Both concert recordings featured on this album have been digitally re-mastered making this an essential purchase for Dr Feelgood fans as well as fans og guitar-driven rhythm 'n' blues.
Having survived the punk explosion and the acrimonious split with guitarist Wilko Johnson Dr Feelgood set about consolidating their position as the UK's most exciting live band. Wilko's replacement was the then unknown Gypie Mayo. He wasn't unknown for long. His impact on the band was enormous as the 22 tracks on this CD show.
Gypie's guitar heroics proved the perfect foil for the howling and growling of frontman Lee Brilleaux. Mix some blues standards and soul classics with band originals and you have a potion that only Dr Feelgood could come up with.

Crippens - Various - Oi! Oi! Thats Yer Lot! / Back On The Streets EP Mitchell. A preview I Want You, I Need You, I Love You - Cliff Anderson - Tribute To Elvis Presley Stephen Foster, May Excerpt from his column for the local newspaper Earlier this year I was made an offer I couldn't refuse.
It came from Chris Fenwick, manager of the legendary rhythm and blues band Dr Feelgood. He asked me if I'd like to produce the group's new album.
I deliberated for all of half a second and said yes. It really would have been rude not to. The project, Mad Man Blues - Dr.
Feelgood - Finely Tuned: The Guitar Album Prescription, sees the current line-up recording new versions of old Feelgood favourites. To say this is a labour of love would be the understatement of the year. I've been a Dr. Feelgood fan for well over 30 years and since the great Lee Brilleaux's passing in I've compiled seven Dr Feelgood collections including the 5 CD boxed set Looking Back.
There are plenty of other treats including a Chuck Berry song which I reckon has all the right ingredients to be a Christmas hit. Presented by Mad Man Blues - Dr. Feelgood - Finely Tuned: The Guitar Album Bragg.
Produced and mixed by John B. Lee also chats about life on the road and life in Leigh-on-Sea. Lee also talks about his battle against cancer. This turned out to be Lee's final radio interview. This compilation features five tracks appearing on CD for the first time including a number from the "Fast Women Slow Horses" session previously unreleased in any shape or form. Each guitarist is represented by five songs from their time with the Feelgoods with many of the tracks being chosen by the guitarists themselves.
The comprehensive sleeve notes include a history of each track and quotes from all five featured guitarists as well as other band members past and present. This is indeed an album Finely Tuned. For more than 20 years Lee Brilleaux fronted the legendary Dr. Lee's death in robbed the music scene of one of its most charismatic performers but his legacy lives on. To coincide with the 10th Lee Brilleaux memorial gig held on his beloved Canvey Island the label Lee co-founded, Grand Records, is releasing a collection of the best of his blues Mad Man Blues - Dr.
Feelgood - Finely Tuned: The Guitar Album. The blues played a huge part in Lee's life. When he was a teenager Lee was lucky enough to catch blues great Howlin' Wolf performing at a pub in Romford and from that day on was determined to front his own group.
Lee's on stage antics owed much to The Wolf and one of Lee's last studio recordings was a tribute to the Chicago blues great. The song is called "Wolfman Calling" and has inspired this compilation. Over the years Dr. Feelgood covered many blues classics by the likes of B. Many of those recordings are featured on "Wolfman Calling". The CD also includes two Dr. Both are appearing on CD for the first time. This is the first ever collection of Lee Brilleaux's blues recordings and is a must for blues fans and Dr.
